Comrade Olubunmi Gbenga Daniel

NAMTES 2025/2026 President

Popularly known as Chrome and politically recognized as Public Figure 001, Olubunmi Gbenga Daniel is a 500-level Mechatronics Engineering student distinguished by his depth of experience in student leadership. Having risen through multiple ranks, he has developed a strong reputation for strategic thinking, coordination, and effective representation. Engineering-driven and solution-oriented, he combines technical insight with leadership capacity to drive progress, foster unity, and champion impactful initiatives within the student and engineering community.

General Secretary

Serving as the General Secretary of the National Association of Mechatronics Engineering Students, I am a 500-level student dedicated to the advancement of our field. I complement my academic journey with professional experience in Full-Stack development and UI/UX design, aiming to deliver efficient, scalable, and intuitive technological solutions. I am an advocate for all-round productivity and excellence, consistently guided by strong moral principles and a commitment to fostering harmonious relationships within the community.

With a strong eye for design and a hands-on approach to innovation, he merges engineering with creativity, extending his expression into animation. Passionate about music and genuine connections, he thrives on meeting people, exchanging ideas, and exploring new frontiers.

In this role, 1 plan events, foster connections, and build a strong departmental community - because great engineers also need great teamwork. My technical interests include robotics, factory automation, Python for data analysis, and machine learning applications in engineering. I'm driven by the goal of designing smart systems that solve real African problems.

Famous Funso Ibidapo

Academic Director

Famous Funso Ibidapo, popularly known as Boss Fame, is a 500-level student of Mechatronics Engineering and currently serves as the Academic Director of the department. He is skilled in graphic design, web development, and fashion design, with a strong interest in creativity, fashion, and digital innovation. He is passionate about academic excellence and student development, and is committed to creating impactful learning experiences that help students reach their full potential. Beyond academics, he is a music enthusiast who actively engages in creative media. He is also a person of strong Christian and moral values, guided by the principle that whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well.

500L Mechatronics Engineering @FUOYE Director of Projects, NAMTES Turning ideas into real systems Currently: building and refining projects across code, electronics, and automation Future: Automation Engineer | Present: focused on finishing strong Beyond academics, I serve as the Director of Projects for NAMTES (National Association of Mechatronics Engineering Technology Students). In this role, I oversee project development, coordinate technical initiatives, and drive innovation within the department ensuring students gain practical, hands on experience alongside theory. My technical interests include robotics, embedded systems, factory automation, and Python for engineering applications. I’m passionate about creating smart, efficient systems that address real world challenges, especially within the African context.

We took home the grand prize for our AI-driven vision system, judged best for real-time inspection speed and adaptability.
