Popularly known as Chrome and politically recognized as Public Figure 001, Olubunmi Gbenga Daniel is a 500-level Mechatronics Engineering student distinguished by his depth of experience in student leadership. Having risen through multiple ranks, he has developed a strong reputation for strategic thinking, coordination, and effective representation. Engineering-driven and solution-oriented, he combines technical insight with leadership capacity to drive progress, foster unity, and champion impactful initiatives within the student and engineering community.

Famous Funso Ibidapo, popularly known as Boss Fame, is a 500-level student of Mechatronics Engineering and currently serves as the Academic Director of the department. He is skilled in graphic design, web development, and fashion design, with a strong interest in creativity, fashion, and digital innovation. He is passionate about academic excellence and student development, and is committed to creating impactful learning experiences that help students reach their full potential. Beyond academics, he is a music enthusiast who actively engages in creative media. He is also a person of strong Christian and moral values, guided by the principle that whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well.

In this role, I oversee project development, coordinate technical initiatives, and drive innovation within the department ensuring students gain practical, hands on experience alongside theory. My technical interests include robotics, embedded systems, factory automation, and Python for engineering applications. I’m passionate about creating smart, efficient systems that address real world challenges, especially within the African context.

1st Place – National Mechatronics Innovation Challenge 2024

Our autonomous pick-and-place cell prototype outperformed 20+ teams, earning top marks for precision, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Champion – University Robotics Hackathon 2025

We took home the grand prize for our AI-driven vision system, judged best for real-time inspection speed and adaptability.

Gold Award – Industry 4.0 Student Design Competition

Recognized for our smart conveyor integration, lauded by industry sponsors for modularity and seamless PLC communication.

Winner – Global Embedded Systems Contest 2023

Celebrated for our IoT-enabled remote monitoring platform, which demonstrated exceptional uptime and cybersecurity safeguards.
